It is located on North Orange Street near the Optimist Pool. Just north of the park is a playground and a couple of shelters where you can relax and watch your kids play.
This park has one of the largest mounds ever built in the Illinois River basin called The Rockwell Mound.
The mound has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1987. It dates to around AD 200, covers almost 2 acres (8,100 m2), and is about 12 feet (3.7 m) tall.
