Last night was a good night at the Park District for the 4th-6th Grade Girls Traveling Basketball teams. With a cold fall night, the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls went up against Canton for their season opener. The Havana 4th and 6th grade teams did not prevail however showed heart and determination.
The 4th grade game came down to the wire with Canton winning at the end 7-5. The leading scorers for Havana 4th graders were Libbie Johnson #23 with two points and Jaylynn Sarnes #22 with two points as well. Even though the 6th grade game was a tough one for the Havana girls, losing 32-18, they found a rhythm in the second half by scoring twelve points. The leading scorers for the Havana 6th graders were Trinity Pettet #33 with six points and Andee Brown #13 with four points.
The Havana 5th grade team went home with a victory defeating Canton. After half time Havana pulled away from a close score 6-4 and ultimately winning 16-9. The leading scorers for the Havana 5th graders were Kaitlyn Robinson #30 with ten points and Taryn Wickman #11 with four points.
